Weeks and weeks ago, I took an impromptu trip to Tennessee to visit my ol’ pal Dustin and to tour one of the places I’ve always, always wanted to go: Dollywood! It was just after my birthday, just before Dustin’s birthday and a few months before my wedding. The perfect friendship/birthday/bachelorette party celebration! And it ended up being one of the best things I did this summer. Here are the highlights:
I was to meet Dustin and the guys at Jeremy’s “cabin” – which was effing hilarious because Jeremy’s “cabin” is like the nicest place I’ve ever been in my whole life.
And inside the nicest place I’d ever been in my entire life, I was treated like royalty! Jeremy was a wonderful host, Jose prepared amazing, locally-sourced meals and Dustin made sure everything was plated and arranged to perfection.
On our first night together, we dined and played in Gatlinburg. Naturally, we tasted some moonshine, visited some shops and dressed up like old-timey gangsters.
The next day, it was time to make all of my dreams come true! DOLLYWOOD!
You could say Jose was excited, too.
We rode rides!
We ate food!
We took pictures!
And we toured Dolly’s museum!
Phew, y’all. It was a fun, Dolly-filled time. Even when we weren’t at Dollywood, we were watching Dolly’s movies and listening to Dolly’s music. A dream come true!
I returned home with a couple souvenirs: Moonshine for Bryan and a Dolly mug for me. (They didn’t have “Jillian” so I opted for “Bonnie” instead.)
What a weekend. Thanks again, Dustin, Jeremy and Jose, for the best bachelorette weekend three guys could ever throw a gal!
