This week’s Nuvo

I’ve been pretty busy the last few days, prepping to go to Michigan for my sister’s wedding this weekend. (!)

I do have time to share one thing, though: Oreo Jones was named Indy’s best hip-hop artist! He’s on the cover of Nuvo this week, talking about his new album, “Betty”, among other things. Thanks to my hoity-toity connections (aka. Bryan), I’ve listened to an advanced copy of his album already – and it’s good!

I’m so proud of Oreo, and this article is amazing!

Plus, there are pictures of KITTENS!

You can find it here.

If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, at least soak in this amazing quote from DJ B Qwyatt (aka. Bryan) about Oreo:

“I met him in seventh grade. I heard about this kid who was supposed to be in a big fight at a storage unit. He was fighting this other dude who was a lot smaller than him. He was doing all these fake wrestling moves. It was really funny and I was like, ‘Who is this kid?’ That was my first experience with him and we started hanging out right after that. He was just a big, joking teddy bear. I can’t remember anyone in all our time growing up that disliked Oreo.”

And this personal favorite quote of mine, as told by the reporter:

“I met with Oreo Jones on a late summer evening at his downtown home in Indy’s Old Northside neighborhood. It was my first encounter with the emcee and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My editor had warned me that Jones might be tough to pin down – during a preliminary interview he’d insisted that he works days wearing the mouse suit at a local Chuck E. Cheese pizza joint.”
