There I was, sitting at my desk, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, the entire office broke out in cheers. People started ringing the bells on their desks, shouting, clapping; Laura ran to my desk and hugged me.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“Check your email!” she said.
So I did! This is what I saw:
Angela Buchman says it is going to be 70 today!
That means our company will close at noon today :) Please join your fellow coworkers at noon in the courtyard for some green beer.
Enjoy the half day, watch some college basketball (GO DAWGS!), dance an Irish jig and drink a Guinness.
HAPPY ST.PATRICK’S DAY!

The Buchman Clause states:
Each year, the first day it’s over 70 degrees, our company will close at noon. The first day the temperature reaches 70 degrees before noon (EST) and/or Angela Buchman forecasts and confirms it will hit 70 degrees*, the office will close at noon.
“BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!” I joined in cheering.
A coworker back-handspringed down the entire aisle behind my desk.
Only 45 more minutes to go!
best. job. ever.
