“Just be careful. Sometimes, the chemicals in the hot tub can fade your bathing suit, so don’t go in there wearing your million dollar bikini. But, I bet you’re probably not planning on wearing anything in the hot tub. Don’t think I don’t know the things that happen in my rental houses!”

And thus, our weekend of debauchery began.

If by debauchery, you mean playing board games, going to bed before midnight, and lighting sparklers. I guess the rental house guy had higher hopes for our vacation.

But what does he know? It was the best Fourth of July weekend ever!

After roughly a year of planning, debating, and scheduling, Coleman and I embarked on our journey to Lake Cumberland, Kentucky on Thursday morning. Once there, we met my girlfriends, Jen, Jenea and Addie, and their significant others, Blake, Derek and Trey, for four days of fun.

We rented a house by the lake and spent the weekend making meals together, playing games, swimming, and having an all around good time.

Of course, my camera died right before we crossed into Kentucky, so all of the pictures shown here are straight from Jenea. Basically, you could get all of this same information by going to her blog, but I’d appreciate it if you’d read mine, too.

It seemed that all of us got a little lost on the winding Kentucky roads, but one by one, (actually, I guess two by two), we made it to the house.

We started the weekend with a toast!

On Friday, we spent the whole day on a classy, rented pontoon boat!

Trey and Addie were SO excited to sail the open sea!
Ready to get tan!
BJ, the rental boat guy, told us we should go to "Party Cove". We spent all day looking for said cove, but we never found it.
So, Jenea made her own party cove!
Me and my life vest. It never left my side!
We decided to make this place "Party Cove", so Jen and Blake did some exploring.
Aww... Lovebirds!
I'm just thankful I was able to achieve my goal of being the palest person on the trip.
We spent roughly four hours pulling Coleman and Derek behind the boat as they attempted to water ski... with no skis.
Needless to say, it did not go well.
Once off the boat, we headed back to our house...
...with only one minor setback.

Once home, we made dinner and played a rousing game of “Things”. We ended the night watching “Along Came Polly” on the living room couches. And by “we”, I mean “everyone else.” I fell asleep at like 10:00.

On Saturday, we watched something about a World Cup, then headed to the pool for some more sun. Afterward, we went into town for dinner and a movie.

A drive-in movie!

I felt like I was in "Grease"! I think everyone loved that I kept quoting it.
We only had to wait for like two hours for the movie to start.
The guys found a way to stay busy! I think they took some lessons from my cornhole skills. The point of cornhole is to completely miss the board every time you toss the beanbag, right?
I found a comfy spot to sit!
(So did Jenea!)

On Sunday morning, we got up early to clean the house and pack our cars. Oh, and to retrieve our bikinis from around the hot tub. Before we knew it, we were on our way home! Vacations are never long enough, especially when they’re with people you love.

Now, I’m just looking forward to November when we will all be reunited for Trey and Addie’s wedding! Can’t wait!
