And no, that’s not a Dwight quote from The Office. Actually, Dwight did mention once that he absorbed his twin in the womb, but that’s not what I’m talking about.
I have a cyst. It’s a dermoid cyst. And according to Caitlin Low, my friend and personal nurse, there’s a theory that a dermoid cyst is actually your long lost twin. Or something like that. Maybe I made that up.
In any case, a dermoid cyst is disgusting. Never, never, Google a picture of a dermoid cyst. Seriously, don’t do it. Ok, go ahead and do it, but don’t think differently of me once you see it. Dermoid cysts can have hair, skin tissue, bones and even teeth. NASTY.
And according to the doc, there’s one in me.
So, I went to the hospital yesterday to meet with my doctor and schedule surgery to have ol’ Dermy removed. All told, the appointment took 2 1/2 hours, although a good 45 minutes of that saw me sitting in the waiting room, trying not to breathe or touch anything as to not catch the Swine Flu. And who am I kidding, I probably caught the Swine Flu anyway.
Surgery is scheduled for Monday, October 12. And I am nerrrrrvous! I’ve never had surgery before–well, nothing like this anyway. So, please keep me in your thoughts and in your prayers, especially on that day.
And if the doctor gives me a picture of Dermy Cyst, like I asked him to, I will definitely not post it on here. You never, never, want to see a picture of a dermoid cyst.
Ok, maybe I will.
Don’t you know that if you tell me not to do something, I’ll immediately do it? I’m praying for you sweetie. Let me know if you need anything.
I hope it all goes well for you. We’ll pray for your surgery. I know we’re a ways away, but anything we can do from afar let us know!!!
The good news in all of this is that the cyst is not on your face. But in all seriousness, You’ll be in my prayers! I hope the surgery goes well, and you heal quickly! xo!
I love how you are so dang funny that even your medical issues have a humorous side. :) Thinking about you. Maybe I’ll do a blog post dedicated to you, Jillian the Awesome.
