Announcement! Much to the dismay of most of my family, I got tattooed yesterday!
I had a consultation with Fish, an artist from Th’ink Tank Tattoo here in Denver, a couple of weeks ago. I brought him this picture for inspiration:
I told him I wanted Mexican sugar skull, but a really pretty one, with blonde hair and eyelashes. I gave him free reign on whatever he wanted the final product to look like.
When I showed up for the appointment yesterday afternoon, he presented me with a drawing of a gorgeous skull lady! Seeing as Fish specializes in tattoos of pretty girls, he designed a pretty blonde girl with her face painted like a skull. She even has eyelashes and pink eyeshadow!
Altogether, the tattoo took three hours, and it was the most painful experience of my life. Seriously, as I told my sister earlier, I’d rather have given birth to octuplets. But, now that it’s all said and done, it was totally worth it. She’s on my ribs on my left side.
When I got home and showed Coleman the tattoo, he said, “I like her because she’s exactly what you wanted, but to be honest, she scares the sh*t out of me!”
But I love her! She’s just like I want to be: cute, but a little funky.
What do you think? (Ignore the tape remnants stuck to my side. Ouch!)
PRETTY RAD! Gotta love a killer sugar skull! I’ve got to talk Caitlin into getting one.
I love this pic!! :) Maybe Caitlin can get one when I do. However, I don’t really know how well I would do with the pain…I guess we’ll see. I’d be more scared than in pain I think. :)
So pretty! I had my consult today and I go in on August 5th!
I have NO comment!
if you spent the money i sent you for your birthday on this, i will never send you money again! ….you are so incredible! so beautiful! if this is what you want, so be it, it’s what you want, and you should do and have what you want, that’s what life is all about! ..but i just, well, i just want to know why? seriously, tell me why?! what’s the draw.
ok, that was a little dramatic…not really, i’ll still send you money :)
