I’m at work. A woman, who I didn’t recognize, just came in asking if we had a pay phone. I wanted to say, “Does anyone have pay phones these days, lady?” Instead, I said, “No, we don’t have a pay phone, but you’re welcome to use the phone at my desk for a minute, if you’d like.”
She thanked me profusely and said that she was trying to meet someone, but she was lost, and needed to call for directions. “I have my phone with me, but it’s out of service. I can’t get any reception.”
She pulled out her phone and scrolled through the screen to find the number of the person she was trying to meet. Then she set her phone down on my desk. And I realized, no wonder her phone is out of service.
It was not a cell phone. It was a cordless house phone.
i just realized that you title your blog entries starting with “my” – like you’re writing an episode of Scrubs. do you know what I’m talking about?
Yes, it’s a new thing I’m trying. Good catch! I always love the titles of Scrubs episodes, so I decided to copy :)
PS. Emily–your Facebook status made me laugh out loud today. I love Kath and Kim!
