It’s a miracle we even made it from Denver to Michigan. First of all, I’m really scared of flying. So, when I woke up the morning of our departure and saw on the news that a plane had crashed at the Denver airport the night before, I literally thought I was going to die.
Once we got on the plane, I made sure that I listened to some good “tracks” on my iPod, in hopes to distract myself. The songs shuffled, and each one seemed to be hinting that I was about to face immanent death. “Sugar, We’re Going Down” by Fall Out Boy. “Hop A Plane” by Tegan and Sara. “Inches and Falling” by The Format. Even “A Simple Twist of Fate” (the Honorary Title version) seemed to be telling me that I was going to die in a fiery crash.
We made it, though, and drove from Chicago to Michigan in a blizzard. Finally, at 3:45 am, we were home!
